Penis Injury
There are very few cases of penis injuries due to biting but these types of cases are rarely reported due to embarrassment. However penis injuries caused due to other reasons should not be taken lightly and the injury should be treated as soon as possible to avoid further complications. There have also been cases of elderly men who have suffered from wounds to the penis after they had sex with prostitutes. The wounds occurred when the dental braces scraped the glans of the penis. After two days the wounds had deepened and become extremely painful and even some flesh was exposed.
The wound had intensified as bacteria that were normally found in the mouth and throat had settled around the wound. The old man was given some antibiotics and within a few days the wound had recovered. Hence bites that involve the genitals often lead to certain damage as the tissue of the genitals is very delicate and it can be infested easily by oral bacteria. As a result there can be serious damage to urethra, glans and the shaft which may lead to sexual dysfunction and even an unusual change in the shape pf the penis.
Also there is a greater possibility of sexual diseases such as HIV, especially when someone like a prostitute or a drug abuser bites at your penis. There have been very rare cases of infection passing through a bite but transmission of syphilis is possible through a bite wound that can lead to HIV. The problem with most of the cases of biting the penis is that the patient takes a long time to take consultation of the doctor because of embarrassment. A delay will result in the wound becoming more serious as research shows that there are 42 types of bacteria found in the saliva and about 192 types of bacteria in the mouth which include bacteria that cause diseases such as Periodontis and Gingitivitis.
In case a prostitute with braces bit the penis the wound can become infected with bacterium like Eikenella corrodens. This bacterium is found in the mucous membrane of the mouth and the respiratory tract. It can make the pain unbearable if the wound is not treated quickly. Hence a patient should take professional help as soon as possible as the physician will understand the circumstances of the wound and will also ascertain whether the wound is infected or not.
