Foreskin Restoration

Foreskin Restoration is process of restoring the foreskin to a circumcised penis. This is done in several ways, including surgical and non-surgical techniques. There are many reasons that men choose to undergo foreskin restoration. A man may desire to have an uncircumcised appearance, enhance the sensation of the glans part of the penis, or restore a ‘normal’ appearance after surgeries or injuries to the penis. Below is an in depth look at how foreskin restoration is accomplished, why it is done, and more.

How is Foreskin Restoration Accomplished?

With surgical techniques, a doctor can restore the foreskin to the penis in a couple of different ways. One way is to reconstruct the foreskin by skin grafts. Typically, the skin used to reconstruct the foreskin is taken from the scrotum. This is because the skin on the scrotum is the same type of smooth and thin skin which is on the penis. One technique used for foreskin restoration involves four steps, one of which involves ‘burying’ the penis shaft in the scrotum for a period of time. This process is complicated, takes a substantial amount of time, and is costly. There are chances of deformities, and other complications that may occur from surgical foreskin restoration.

With non-surgical techniques, the foreskin restoration is usually done by the man himself. This involves placing ‘stretching’ objects on the skin of the penis. This is usually done with a special type of ‘tape.’ The tape is attached to the skin behind the glans part of the penis, and then weights are added which will stretch the skin. This process is continued until the desired foreskin is apparent. The stretching can actually stimulate the skin and muscle to grow itself to produce foreskin. In most men, this process takes around 18 months, however, it can take much longer than that. There are no known side effects of these stretching or ‘tugging’ techniques.

Why do Men Choose to Undergo Foreskin Restoration?

Men who were circumcised as infants may choose to have their foreskin restored because of personal preferences. When a man is circumcised, the foreskin is removed. This foreskin is very sensitive. When a man is circumcised, he becomes less sensitive to stimulation and there is less sensation. A man may choose to undergo foreskin restoration to restore these sensitive areas. There is more pleasure during sexual intercourse.

Some men may choose to undergo this process because of deformities caused from surgery, or injuries which have happened to the man’s penis. Performing foreskin restoration can create a more normal appearance or hide unwanted deformities.

More information.

Surgical foreskin restoration produces results much more quickly than the non surgical techniques. However, in studies done between men who have had surgical restoration, and men who have used the ‘tugging’ process, the latter have been much more satisfied with the results. Men who have had surgery for foreskin restoration often are unhappy with the results. Although the non surgical process can take quite some time, the results appear to be much more natural, and much closer in functionality and appearance to the natural uncircumcised penis.
